We’re a big fan of Chambray! It is one of our favorite neutrals that’s easy to wear. It pairs with almost anything and it looks stylish without trying too hard. While Chambray is always on trend for spring, we think that you can wear it all year long – it just depends on how you style it and what you wear it with. Whether dark, light, faded or tie-dye, this versatile top is a must-have in your wardrobe. We’ve picked out a few of our favorite outfits from different celebs to show you how they’ve styled their denim tops.
Pop of Color + Chambray (Katie Holmes)
We love Katie’s comfy laid back outfit. The red jeans offered just the right pop of color against her light wash chambray. It’s an unexpected color match but it still looks flattering for an everyday outfit especially when paired with cute ballet flats.
Lace + Chambray (Jordana Brewster)
The whole outfit shows a couple of fashion tricks – a mix of high and low budget pieces (as you can see in Jordana’s Chanel handbag and flip flops, a no fuss shirt paired with elegant lace skirt) and a fun and feminine twist to dressing up a light chambray top with a charming skirt. The pairing is perfect for summer – with the tie front detail, the overall look is sweet and has a hint of subtle sexiness.
Leather + Chambray (Miranda Kerr)
Miranda has a more sophisticated take in styling her chambray top as evident in her printed jacket and sleek leather pants. Her ladylike jacket added texture to her light indigo shirt and made a perfect contrast to the edginess of her leather pants. If you opt for a more modest ensemble but still want to keep the ladylike-edgy look, you can do away with the jacket, roll the sleeves to a three quarter length and finish off with a long tassel or chain necklace.
Denim Jeans + Chambray (Ashley Greene)
A lot of women are turned off by this pairing but it doesn’t look that bad when done right. The key is to always match a lighter denim top with darker pants and accent your outfit with brown leather accessories – belt, handbag or shoes to break the blue to blue contrast with a muted shade. The result is a chic outfit that looks great for daytime and weekend wear.
